What we do
Rainbow Pellet manufactures industrial wood pellets at Kechau Tui, in Kuala Lipis, Pahang. A wood pellet is a dense, uniform cylinder of compressed wood fibre, burned in industrial boilers and power stations in place of coal. We produce white wood pellets for renewable power generation in Europe and Asia, and advanced black pellets made from palm oil mill residue.
The company was incorporated in 2016 and began commercial production in 2019. It is part of a Malaysian group whose activities span timber products, forest plantation management and biomass-powered energy, led by a management team with forty years' experience in the sector.
Our raw material is wood that already exists. Sawmills produce sawdust, chips, bark and off-cuts as a by-product of cutting timber. Rubber plantations clear and replant their stands at the end of a twenty-five to thirty year latex cycle. Both streams are continuous, both were largely unused before there was a market for them, and together they are what we turn into fuel.
